Water Conservation

Everyone should prepare for the city to start their annual water conservation requests. Here is what you can do.

In your yard and garden . . .
#1 - Timely watering. When watering your lawn and garden, do it during a time of the day (early morning/evening) that avoids water evaporation.

#2 - Use a water timer to control the time of day you water. We offer three types of water timers — one of them will probably meet your needs.

#3 - Use Soaker Hoses to deliver water directly down to the roots were it is needed instead of on top of the leaves where it can evaporate away.

#4 - Use Mulch/Compost/Bark to protect the soil from erosion and evaporation, insulate plant roots from temperature fluctuations, and reduce weed growth.
